@wallstreetrookie,the reason to buying US Empire Resort was because of Bailing out a lost making venture by chairman LKT, using Genting funds in the process, he has no quams of abandoning us small share holders unlike his late father
If Empire is doing well and was his sole stable of companies, previously you think he will openly invite us in ? Only he can't help it like Genting HK,Karma lar
Prices of Genting groups are so low now , sell also cannot buy to average down also can't as difficult to guess technically the bottom, thank God l spread some investment into glove counters to offset Genting losses
Sigh...

Those people who say Genting can buy because they buy small lots lolll. Or they haven’t entered. If you buy more than 100 lots, you’ll confirm panic if it drops to 2.50

Short term pain is long term gain. You don't have to be a genius to know it will rebound. If you want to be noisy, why not go AGM to shout and scold there which is more effective than whining here. In here no one cares about your complaints. Write to IR or best just sell your shareholdings once and for all and buy your glove stocks. I'm sticking to laggards and undervalued heavyweight to ride on the recovery than those bubble gloves...we're much safer here :)

Humans are always forgetful being, very soon it will be crowded.
Come on, you didn't see how packed Genting was a month ago??? Ignorance is bliss they say.

Regarding gloves, the new businesses going in isn't wrong.
Even before Covid, gloves were making good margin, just not superb.
After Covid, ppl come to think that new viruses will come up in future, and support the biz.
Their intention is not so much to catch the covid trend, but a longer term sustainable biz.

However, for companies already in the play, their prices are already hyped.

Quotes from Buffett:
We simply attempt to be fearful when others are greedy and to be greedy only when others are fearful.
Price is what you pay. Value is what you get.

You'll only change your tone and go quiet once the glove bubble mania burst. Trust me...that day will come even some self proclaimed superinvestor there won't tell you if he's secretly selling or sold out before it collapses. How many times the cunning fox done it in the past? If you're a newcomer, do some research or ask around some old timers...most don't give a fcuk so free to tell you. Seek margin of safety...remind yourself...

Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me.

Ya la ya la. I’m no beginner lol. I will know when the glove bubble bursts. My point is: There’ll be plenty of time to buy if a vaccine comes out tomorrow.

wallstreetrookie, your name suits you ideally. That is why you're a rookie. Investing and trading aren't the same. From what you posted here, I can assume that you've gone greedy at wrong timing and you're inexperienced.

Look at my comment history please. I bought during the March coronavirus crash. How is it the wrong timing? Every one was selling Genting and I was one of the few people who call buy in this forum. But now still lose money. Lol

I came here earlier than you lol you haven’t experienced a real crash is it?

Assuming vaccine is announced tomorrow, rather likely you will not be willing to pay 3.20 at the opening bell, taking a look see attitude.
After a minute, price goes to 3.40, and then you'll try to quickly park at 3.40, only to be outbid by other buyers. Then you say fcuk it! 3.60! Only to realise price is 3.70 now lol

Just my imagination there, it could well be going down in reality if no vaccine approved lol

Wait until you lose money just ONCE in a market crash: then you’ll understand why some people panic sell.

I used to be like you. I thought I was the genius who can time the bottom and go bullish and against big funds when all funds are selling. Just inverse them and win big right? WRONG. You’ll always remain an ikan bilis unless two conditions:
1. You’re an insider
2. You’re from an institution. Your money controls the market. You decide when to push and press down Genting

@DestiniL I don’t think so. Genting has a lot of outstanding shares. So price won’t immediately shoot up. Tbh if Genting limit up tomorrow, you’ll have a lot of time to buy even.

"I bought during the March coronavirus crash..."

Hello, REAL investors would not blink if their holdings stay in the red for even years only to see it realise its true value later

U think Warren Buffett buy punya stocks all also buy today huat next day weeks or even months?

Hello? Warren Buffett was an analyst since 1954. His father was a fund manager. Technically speaking, he invested during the early stages of US economic boom. Yes, he’s very experienced and this man is also fking lucky.

My expectation to glove stocks? Simple the money invest here is from gloves one. That's the expectation.

Stockisnotfun, investing should never be emotional. If it gets into your nerve, that means you've unrealistic expectations towards your investments and you've poor cash management or else being too greedy. Genting has been severely impacted by covid-19 and you expect the recovery at Godspeed...totally understandable..who doesn't. Patience is a virtue :)

I bet if you are uncle lim you also will do what he did now. Aggressive expand in this economic crisis because the price might very cheap, and earn a lot in next 2 years. Agree that genting is an old pops & moms share as l am already a warga mas, had made and lost in genting all these years. Every tops and bottoms are a challenge for many, you think its the support, buy and further down its goes, fibonaci ratios are guidelines, agree using forums nowadays helps us to relief stress and gang up to support or move the prices, isn't what all these so call gurus or sifus are doing
We jaga sama kita ,,and sharing is carreing.. let all buyers beware and buy at your own risk..Good luck

Hi marketpulse, I don't think for a blue chip stock the retailers could command a considerable market movement to its stock price. So I don't think the interactions among forumers here would have any impact on price fluctuations. Patience is a virtue. Everything takes time....

Agree on StockisntFun... what the boss is doing is agressively expanding in Genting Stronghold (Gaming, Theme Park, Hotels - Tourism) on downturn market so when market turns, all infrastructures are there already. This is what a boss should be doing frankly and I personally think it is OK for the future.

I mean after 2 years, MAYBE, the trigger in Msia (opening of theme park), higher exposure of Europe and US Casinos plus potential Tokyo bid, will all kickstart Genting to all time high...?

Oh well, dont think this is a good time for now....

Before the emergence of covid-19..its multiple expansions into US with heavy capex was well calculated..that's how i see it. Unfortunately this pandemic has disrupted not only genting but the whole world across all industries..some may even benefited from it. In chinese, there's a saying...human can calculate that much only but God will decide. However I'm confident genting will overcome all the obstacles and grow strong from it.

The best time to invest is during a downturn because that's when you get bargains. You'll need to have strong cashflow and strong holding ability. So invest responsibly :)

One man's meat is another poison. Personally I traded dollar cost averaging from the Mar bottom but sold short of the rebound high in Jun. Again started averaging every 10.0% down from 3.80. Back in Jan from breakdown it took 3 mths from RM6 to RM2.91, present break down from June, 4 mths of lower prices not abating soon. ST Trader would know nothing to see here better off somewhere else. For LT so far the only largest sell down block 1 minute was on 16th Oct more than 5M shares was cleared. Chartwise not looking healthy but I always stick to my strategy or some will call it "Value Trap".
