GASMSIA only supplies gas to customers who consume less than 2 million standard cubic feet per day (mmscfd) whereas PETGAS supplies to those using in excess of two mmscfd.

petgas is commissioning Kemanis power plant in sabah. Plus sabah Sarawak gas pipeline and Sabah Oil Gas Terminal. PEtgas is expanding in Borneo!

KUALA LUMPUR: Petroliam Nasional Bhd (Petronas) and Shell Malaysia has announced oil discovery in offshore Sabah.

The discovery was made by Shell via the Limbayong-2 well during the appraisal of the Limbayong gas field.

“The appraisal well encountered 136 metres of oil bearing sands and there are plans to conduct more appraisal work on the discovery to determine its recoverable volume.

“Petronas is indeed pleased with the discovery, which affirms the hydrocarbon prospects of Malaysia’s deepwater areas,” said Petronas in a statement.

“This discovery attests to the significant potential in this area and is a positive development for exploration activities in Sabah and Sarawak,” it added.

The drilling of the Limbayong-2 appraisal well was carried out by the consortium of Shell Malaysia (35%), Conoco Phillips (35%) and Petronas Carigali Sdn Bhd (30%). — Bernama

RAPID, Pengerang: Awards to pick up ‘RAPID’ly

In April 2014, PETRONAS gave its Final Investment Decision (FID) for the development of the Pengerang Integrated Complex (PIC) that comprises a large scale Refinery and Petrochemical Integrated Development (RAPID) and other associated facilities worth MYR86.6b (USD27b) in total. The PIC,to be developed on a 6,242 acre site, consists of a 300k bpd refinery and a
7.7mtpa petrochemical complex. The associated facilities include storage tanks, water system, a power co-generation plant and a LNG regasification terminal. The first refinery plant is set to commission by early-2019.Following the FID, a few construction packages consisting of earthworks, gas pipeline installation and for a co-generation plant have been awarded.
The other milestone was the Project Management Consultancy contract award to the Technip-Fluor consortium which includes the overall project and site management of the RAPID project. This follows from the front-end engineering design (FEED) for RAPID that was awarded to Technip in 2012. In 2H14, we expect infrastructure works awards to pick up strongly with
potential upcoming awards include a LNG regasification plant, a dam, water treatment facilities and a 2nd co-generation power plant.

Petronas-backed LNG project in Queensland nearly complete. The Gladstone LNG Project in Queensland, backed by Petroliam Nasional Bhd (Petronas) is 80% complete and on track to deliver its first cargo in 2015. The project is a joint venture in which Santos Ltd owns 30%, Petronas 27.5%, Total of France 27.5% and Kogas of South Korea 15%. Once the plant becomes operational, each of its tanks will be able to store 140,000 cu m of LNG before it is exported to customers in Malaysia and South Korea. (Source: The Edge Financial Daily)

Petd had alrdy made slight recvery..showng signs of uptrend lst week ,if not fr worst week of Dow ...but petg ,missing its coffers by >50% is worst than petd last fincil reprt..hulala...the biggest drop in friday hstry...

Drop in profit is due to ITA. Not part of the operation. The most sought tax exemption in msia for company doing pioneer project or msian spearhead project. Exemption based on qualifying asset can go up to 100%. 20 sen is just for interim div. Not total. Good piggy bank for income. Good to note also, the revenue is higher.

this Petgas is good company. sure profit company but the dividend is not attractive at all. Buy of capital return instead of dividend yield.
