Business Background

AirAsia Bhd provides air transportation throughout Asia. The airline operator focuses on delivering lower fares without a host of other amenities. It does not provide frequent-flyer miles or airport lounges, but looks to cater affordable transportation to all customers. In-flight meals and drinks are additional purchases available to customers. All short and long-haul flights are nonstop, and the company focuses on high frequency and high turnaround of flights. Operating segments are grouped by geographic regions. Revenue derived from Malaysia makes up the majority of revenue, but the company does hold material operations in several Asian regions.

Mabel KUALA LUMPUR (March 27): MIDF Research has downgraded AirAsia Group Bhd (AAGB) to "sell" as it views the airline’s temporary flight suspension to take a larger hit on the group’s earnings for the second quarter.

The research house lowered its target price to 54 sen from 63 sen previously. The stock, currently trading unchanged at 73 sen, has lost 33% over the past month.

bahai4453 So many good rubber industries and banks stocks to grab, but all these bravos still want to sapu AA at 0.75 above. As I said there is no third round rebound. All airplanes are grounded. Grounded mean lose money! Do you all know 3 millions Americans are jobless. You know how serious is more than 3 millions people go jobless ? Worst to come ! I wait to collect at 0.50 and below and hope Tony able to save AA through the trouble water.
Malaysian Government will never bail out AA as AA does not offered any benefit for the politicians. In this world, every government is racist but the degree of racism is different. Malaysia can be rated as top 10 in the world !
Mahathir had killed the economy prospect of Malaysia when he was in power for 2 years. He too scared of Chinese because he is racist and did not understand Chinese.
In Malaysia you can find a lot of chinese towkays employed malays or indians workers. But can you find any malays or indian towkays employed chinese workers in their shops and restaurants ?

Mabel How long will this pandemic last?

In China, the first cases were reported in December. It’s now half March, and Wuhan, where it hit hardest, had only 1 new case today.

If we add another month for sick people (of which there are still plenty) to get better, and to make sure no more cases appear, that makes it…Hence we are talking about FOUR MONTHS.

Tough Times Never Last but Tough People do..

newbie1111 China is not even opening up after three months. They just cancel most flight only allow one weekly flight per airline at 75% load. And the movie theater reopen for a few days and yesterday they shutdown it all down again.

This disruption to business that require people being in close proximity may well last more than six months.

Can AA cash reserve survive 6 month of low to no business?

apple168 Singapore airline also can’t withstand this current covid associated economic crisis.

Cash reserve of AA had been given out to all shareholders as dividends. Of course, as AA CEO, TF received the lion shares.

You, Smart investor, should know if AA can or can’t go through such crisis.

Good Luck.

smalltimespeculator AirAsia is not the only airline supporting the government. This is FAKE NEWS because the National Airline is also contributing a lot.

AirAsia is the only airline BOASTING about it on social media.

The National Airline is doing their service quietly and sincerely. If you are sincere, there is no need to boast and let people know.

ks55 Check what is the revenue from air traffic for airasia.
If airport remain close for 2 months, can Airasia survive?
What about 4 months? Six months?

Airasia is privately owned. When company make money, all money go to shareholders pocket.
If company go bankrupt, do you think Govt should bail it out?

trader9918 Just stop flying 1-2month. Will AA go bankrupt ? I dont think so. If AA bankrupt, KLIA2 also tutup and many airport in every state will oldso die. Malaysia Airport Holdong will also go bankrup. do you think gov will allow that to happen?
Nak pakai MAS. ? Khazanah already loss billions bailout MAS for the past 10 years , wasting money.
So if AA close shop. nak pakai MAS lagi.
29/03/2020 12:14 PM
trader9918 AA may loss revenue but they also save fuel cost for the period.. No point flying without passenger but spending on fuel. so grounding all planes will save a lot of money than flying..
