oskchoon PM Muhyiddin announced free Covid-19 vaccine for all Malaysians... Good news...
27/11/2020 8:00 PM
NPRA1985 @Luckybull Pfizer only covers 20% of the population. Another 10% will be from Covax (Vaccine company not known). So balance will 40% unaccounted for.

NPRA1985 Covid-19 vaccine to be given free to Malaysians, says PM Muhyiddin

The Covid-19 vaccine will be given free to Malaysians but foreigners will have to pay a charge determined by the Ministry of Health, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said today.

The prime minister said the government has no plan to make the vaccination compulsory and the vaccine will be administered only to those who agree to take it voluntarily, particularly people at risk and prone to disease.

rockrziq If it's publicly sold, I wonder if got people want to buy the Sinopharm vaccine .. 145usd = Rm 590. Plus Kanger's mark up idk how expensive it can be. Hmm hmm
27/11/2020 8:15 PM
Noobie123 It reminds me of Hepatitis B vaccine. When it was first launched, it cost about RM300 per dose and you need 3 doses if my memory is right. Today you still have to pay RM120 - 150 per dose at private hospital. Correct me if I am wrong.
27/11/2020 8:20 PM
eyeHunter My family will take Sinopharm vaccines. $148 (USD or MYR?)

huatkopi88 What is certain is Pfizer vaccine for 30% population as announced by PM. What is still uncertain is Sinopharm vaccine + Kanger and still subject to many speculations where how they will fit in and when. Since Kanger price is still largely driven by vaccine news and not bamboo, this will cause short term fluctuations between 0.175 and 0.195 until things are made clear. No risk no gain.

27/11/2020 8:41 PM
Noobie123 Cost of transport more expensive than product..hahaha
27/11/2020 8:42 PM
SleepingForest Huatkopi88 , Pfizer vaccine first batch is not for general population . It's for first liners .

Don't know when when general population will receive it . Maybe need to wait another 6-12 month for next cycle
27/11/2020 8:45 PM
MadCow75 Noobie, yes this the point... u need cold or freeze box container only can bring in.. then the cost actually will go higher... what our finance department doing... semua otak masuk air...

27/11/2020 8:47 PM
Noobie123 The Covax vaccine also no idea what it is. Malaysia is just paying upfront money for something that is not ready. A bit mind boggling.
27/11/2020 8:47 PM
MadCow75 Nvm lar... we aim that sinopharm for private sector... maybe this is gov want... giving cheap vaccine free... and earn back from private sector... private = $

Noobie123 @huatkopi88, of all sources of info, you must choose a Japanese report on China. Hahahaha...
27/11/2020 9:00 PM
huatkopi88 Someone forwarded to me, just post it as it relates to vaccine news. No hidden agendas
27/11/2020 9:09 PM
birkincollector now that Pfizer already confirmed......buy tnlogis or tasco.......the only two logistic companies with cold room facilities
27/11/2020 9:12 PM
rockrziq The problems from that article stated that Chinese developers are not as transparent as EU/US developers. The data from the inoculations still hidden. Come on Sinopharm announce the 3rd phase clinical data already ...
27/11/2020 9:13 PM
rockrziq KGB too, they provide dry ice for super cool logistics.
27/11/2020 9:14 PM
Noobie123 I think Sinopharm will only announce only after they got the approvals from regulators. They won't do it before hand.
27/11/2020 9:16 PM
profit everyday while we knew KANGER had MoU with Zuellig Pharma. In 1998, Zuellig was the only sole distributor for Pfizer in Malaysia.

https://www.thepharmaletter.com/article/pfizer-names-zuellig-as-new-distributor-in-malaysia

If Malaysia has inked the deals with Pfizer, who will be the new distributor for them?
27/11/2020 9:18 PM
rockrziq If you research about Pfizer ... they have a quite bad reputation at western. Hmmm we shall see ..
27/11/2020 9:19 PM
profit everyday i hv more faith on china vaccines since this virus came from them. there also very less news from china about covid 19 after they had successfully contained it.
27/11/2020 9:23 PM
NPRA1985 Some are also being donated via a subsidized program, COVAX via the WHO. Countries that have ordered Chinese manufactured vaccines so far include Indonesia, Sao Paulo province in Brazil (despite disruptions from the central government), Mexico, Malaysia (donation), Turkey and the Philippines. The scope of countries to receive donations from Beijing is also likely to be ramped up as China intensifies its multilateral cooperation to fight the COVID-19.

Noobie123 At least it is tested on Asians which we are of some what similar DNA :)
27/11/2020 9:26 PM
NPRA1985 Yes, means guaranteed it will be effective in Asians.
27/11/2020 9:27 PM
Goldencoins affordable cannot be expensive, right?

Thus despite those who attempt to discredit it, China's vaccines constitute a popular choice because they are affordable and can be distributed in a larger and more effective capacity.

So Pfizer might not be a done deal yet according to MOH

27/11/2020 9:38 PM
Noobie123 Our DG did mention during a special interview last week that vaccine manufacturers only give press releases and not data which consist thousands of pages. MOH cannot give approvals merely based on these press statements.
27/11/2020 9:40 PM
NPRA1985 @Goldencoins Yes, China has repeatedly assured Southeast Asia, including Malaysia that the vaccines will be affordable. It is part of their effort for global good. The price that is quoted in the articles is certainly not final. That price is most likely for developed nations, and not for developing or underdeveloped nations who will either be given heavily subsidized vaccines or even free vaccines.
27/11/2020 9:40 PM
Noobie123 This deal is like I am booking this new car provided it can move. Might as well you come and sell to me only when it is ready and already moving.
27/11/2020 9:48 PM

27/11/2020 9:57 PM
NPRA1985 Muhyiddin said the agreement with Pfizer is to ensure that the government has data access to evaluate vaccine quality, safety, and efficacy, apart from ensuring access to the vaccine once it is distributed by the company.

NPRA1985 Yes Sinopharm vaccine is working quietly in the background and they know they are ahead of western vaccines. Western media only like to shout and bark loudly regarding western vaccines and act as though only western countries are producing vaccines.

Since Dpharma dah menjadi supplier
